Airport entrance a mess for too long

As a frequent user of Edmonton’s airport I must comment how frustrating, and frankly embarrassing, it is that the main road in and out of our airport has been under construction for longer than it took to build our new arena downtown. It has been a slalom course of traffic cones and ever-changing configuration forever.

How long can it take to build or upgrade a road?

I realize there are major projects taking place in the area, but how can you have the main road in and out of a major airport in this state for so long?

To make it even worse, it’s the sheriffs’ favourite spot to pick off incoming traffic exceeding the speed limit. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. Really, a 50 kilometre per hour limit into an airport from a highway?

And no I have not been ticketed — yet. Don Goss, Edmonton
