Virtue and Moir take gold in Korea
Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir captured the gold medal in ice dance Friday at the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in PyeongChang, South Korea. Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., totalled 196.95 points after the free dance. Maia and Alex Shibutani took second with 191.85, while fellow Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates won bronze with 185.58 points. Kaitlyn Weaver of Toronto and Andrew Poje of Waterloo, Ont., finished in fifth, one spot ahead of Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier of Toronto.
