Homebuyers recognize local builders’ focus on integrity, respect and honesty
It takes a certain amount of work to get recognized by homebuyers as one of the top builders in the Edmonton region.
On March 18, Regency Developments was formally acknowledged as the 2017 Customer Choice Award winner for multi-family builders at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association — Edmonton Region Awards of Excellence in Housing gala.
“This is the culmination of eight years of hard work, of establishing who we were,” said Raj Dhunna, chief operating officer with Regency Developments.
Formed in 2008, Regency Developments has been busy in the Edmonton area since that time, building approximately 1,500 condo units over the last eight years, with another 2,500 units in the pipeline for the next five to eight years.
In addition, Regency Developments has put a lot of effort into fostering a reputation as a builder that aims to do things right, the first time, and ensuring homebuyers are happy with their purchase.
Almost every industry strives for 100 per cent satisfaction, Dhunna said, but he admits that’s a lofty and unreasonable goal. Instead, he wants at least 85 per cent of customers to walk away from the buying process feeling satisfied.
The award solidly indicates Regency Developments has met that goal, thanks to a focus on the values of integrity, respect and honesty.
“We continue to abide by those values that our company operates on,” Dhunna said.
Winning the award also serves as a benchmark for the company, he added. Clients have come to expect certain things from Regency Developments, which in turn pushes the company to exceed that bar in future projects.
As Dhunna said, in the housing industry companies’ reputations are made or broken based on the last project they do.
“This cements that reputation of when clients recognized the company, we’re doing good work,” he said.
Of course, the win does come with a bit of surprise and relief.
