WHO TO WATCH:

-

Oilers: C Connor McDavid He’s on a tear with 19 points (six goals) in his 10-game point streak, which is the longest for the club since Doug Weight did it 19 years ago. Leon Draisaitl also has a 10-gamer. McDavid registered his 28th multi-point game Saturday against the Ducks, including his 11th three-point night to give him 94 points on the season. Last time an Oilers player had 100 points was Weight in 1995-96, when he had 104 (25 goals). McDavid has three points in the first four meetings with Kings this year.

Kings: RW Jarome Iginla He came over from Colorado at the trade deadline and he’s been one of the few Kings who’s been able to score. He has six goals (four game-winners) and eight points in his 15 games. He’s had five fewer goals than Dustin Brown’s had in 76 games, to put that into context. This might be the last hurrah for Iginla, who turns 40 on July 1 and, sadly, has never won a Cup.

Game Notes: The Oilers have 97 points, two back of Anaheim in the Pacific but have four games left, one more than the Ducks. Anaheim has the Flames and Hawks at home and the Kings in LA. The Oilers have the Kings, Sharks and two against the Canucks. If the Oilers win three of their last four, the Ducks would need five of six points to take top spot. If they get four points and the teams finish with 103 points, the Oilers win the tiebreaker … The Kings have been shut out 10 times and have eight goals in the last five games. McDavid has more assists (65) than the Kings’ leading scorer Jeff Carter (62 points) … Oilers radio voice Jack Michaels pinch-hit as the TV play-byplay man for the Kings’ home game loss to Arizona Sunday. They’re looking for somebody to replace Hall-of-Famer Bob Miller next year and, obviously, Michaels is on their radar to get a shot at the plum job … Jarome Iginla played his 1,550th game Sunday against Arizona, which puts him 12th on the all-time list, one more than Alex Delvecchio.
