Ortona Gymnastics Club, now located on the GO Sports side of the Saville Community Sports Centre, is one of Edmonton’s longest standing homes to gymnasts of all abilities.
Celebrating its 40th year as an organization, Ortona will be celebrating its longevity simply by continuing to do what it does best: make gymnastics available, engaging and fun to anyone of any age and ability.
Gymnastics at Ortona is so popular because everyone can find something fun to try, and everyone comes out of the program with something more meaningful in their lives.
Gymnastics is not only about fitness; it demands mental focus, builds confidence, self-esteem, and self-discipline.
Not into traditional gymnastics? What about trampoline? Rhythmic gymnastics? Basic core conditioning or stretching for athletes of other sports? Gymnastics truly covers it all.
Did you know the basics of gymnastics—one of the foundations of all sports—can be seen in just about every other sport? At Ortona we build the core strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination required for physical activity.
Parents of the under-five crowd have traditionally delighted in the benefits of play that Ortona’s World of Wonderment in the KinderGym offers. Movement to music, creative play and fundamentals of balance and co-ordination give this group a significant head start over their peers in body awareness, co-ordination and self-confidence. The fun they have and the friends they make have them asking their parents to come back. Here at Ortona, we combine fun games, activities and gymnastics circuits to create a summer camps, field trips, programs and open gyms that are not only engaging and exciting, but also physically challenging and educational for every age.
