Late, late nights for Harry

- MELISSA HANK

James is just wild about Harry, and Harry’s just wild about him.

To prove it, Harry Styles, the most fashionable-sounding member of One Direction, will take up residency on James Corden’s late-night show from Monday to Thursday this week.

And because these types of things are rarely coincidental, Styles will promote his newly released self-titled debut album as well as participate in sketches.

“He’ll be playing a new song every night. We have some fun things lined up,” Corden, the host of The Late Late Show, told Extra.

The Brits have known each other for years — they met when One Direction wan’t even a glimmer in Simon Cowell’s eye. Styles showed up at Corden’s wedding in 2012, and in 2015 he got a tattoo of The Late Late Show’s logo after losing Tattoo Roulette on the series.

Styles made another highprofile TV appearance last month on Saturday Night Live, as the musical guest for the April 15 episode with host Jimmy Fallon. The hypnotically coiffed singer played Mick Jagger in a Celebrity Family Feud sketch.

Styles’s run on The Late Late Show isn’t the only thing keeping Corden happy. On May 22, the host will front his second Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special on CBS. In Canada it’ll also air on CTV, the homegrown network where The Late Late Show lives.

“So we have a brand-new Carpool Karaoke with Katy Perry. We have a Toddlerography with Jennifer Lopez — it’s me and Jennifer Lopez in a dance class being taught only by two-, threeand four-year-olds, then we’ll be showing some of the things we’ve loved over the past 12 months,” he told Extra.

“We’ve shot a big musical opening, which is maybe the biggest opening to a show we’ve ever done.”

ALL ABOARD!

Spy series Berlin Station debuts Monday on Super Channel, with Richard Armitage starring as undercover agent Daniel Miller. New to the CIA station in Berlin, Daniel must figure out the identity of a whistleblower who’s using the alias Thomas Shaw. His investigation takes him deep into a conspiracy that leads all the way to Washington.

“The thing that attracted me to this particular script was the currency and the immediacy of now,” Armitage told Collider when the 10-episode first season debuted on U.S. cable network EPIX last October.

“It’s happening in front of us. As we sit and watch CNN today, we’re seeing cyber-hacking and national security threats, and that’s very much what our show is about.”

Rhys Ifans, Richard Jenkins, Michelle Forbes and Leland Orser also star. Ashley Judd joins the cast as a series regular in Season 2.
