A few guilty TV treats

- LINDSEY WARD lward@postmedia.com

And the rose doesn’t go to …

So, your ex-girlfriend shows up to rat you out? Get lost. You beg for a kiss rather than setting the mood and letting it happen? Buh-bye. You devote all of your energy to casting The Whaboom Guy in a negative light when he’s already doing that himself ? See ya. You are the actual Whaboom Guy? And like that — bam! — DeMario, Fred, Blake E., The Whaboom Guy (Lucas) were told to walk. Because guess what? Rachel Lindsay has declared this season of The Bachelorette a bull-free zone. At this rate, Monday’s episode (ABC/City) might end up being the finale.

PARADISE FOUND

At long last, ABC has announced the list of Bachelor/Bachelorette castoffs that will be heading to Mexico for the so-guilty-you’llneed-a-shower-afterward summer pleasure Bachelor in Paradise. From Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor there will be Raven Gates, Corinne Olympios, Alexis Waters, Lacey Mark, Kristina Schulman, Danielle Maltby, Taylor Nolan and Jasmine Goode (brace for Taylor vs. Corinne, Part 2!). Others include Amanda Stanton, who found love last summer (guess we know how that turned out) as well as Bachelorette JoJo’s castaways Nick Benvenutti, Robby Hayes and Vinny Ventiera.

ALL BUZZERS, NO BUZZ

It’s a reality show about gorgeous, stilettoed women living in fabulously chic abodes, interacting over cocktails, and yet … Hockey Wives still severely lacks drama. Where’s a Real Housewife when you need her? We can, however, look forward to (dread?) the inevitable spat between rocky couple Maripier Morin and Brandon Prust when they’re faced with yet another turning point in their relationship as he joins a team in Germany during the Season 3 finale on Wednesday (W Network).

SURE, BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING — BUT ARE YOU?

If there was ever a time for Big Brother Canada viewers to use their Power of Veto, this is it. Host Arisa Cox and a rep for Global TV have both confirmed the series is going on hiatus after five seasons. Hiatus? That doesn’t mean it’s cancelled, does it? Well no, but, well, most likely. Just ask Canadian Idol, which has been on “hiatus” since 2008. Big Brother Canada fans are now tweeting up a storm using the hashtag #SaveBBCan and have started up online petitions in hopes of rescuing the show, which averaged about one million viewers during its most recent March-May run.
