Two men have been charged with first-degree murder after a 28-year-old man was shot while coming out of a pub June 1.

Justin Nicholas Allen, 28, was found on the ground suffering gunshot wounds after police responded to a pub near Hermitage Road and 40 Street at 1:20 a.m. on June 1 for reports of an altercation.

Allen was treated at the scene before he was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.

According to police, an argument had broken out between two groups inside the pub and continued outside.

Shortly thereafter, witnesses reported hearing several gunshots.

Investigators do not believe Allen was involved in the altercation.

He was known to be a regular customer at a pub in the area.

Winston Stanley Dickson Thom, 30, is facing similar charges, including first-degree murder, use of a firearm, knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, careless use of firearm, four counts of failing to comply with conditions and another charge of possessing a firearm while prohibited.
