Paradise found?

- LINDSEY WARD lward@postmedia.com

Bachelor Nation rejoiced this week when ABC announced Bachelor in Paradise is resuming production and will air this summer as planned. After reviewing videotape from the show, producer Warner Bros. determined no cast members misbehaved nor was anyone in jeopardy on the set of the popular spinoff. Don’t expect to see said video: It won’t be released to safeguard the privacy of those involved. So what were the sexual assault allegations all about, anyway? According to People magazine, Season 4 production was suspended after a producer raised concerns about an alleged sexual encounter between DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios. Last week Olympios said she was a “victim” and was seeking therapy for the trauma she experienced on June 4. While we’re doubtful Jackson and Olympios will return after the drama, a number of the season’s original cast members are expected to fly back to Mexico to film the show — again — including Vinny Ventiera, Taylor Nolan, Raven Gates and Amanda Stanton. Their quest for love — and, presumably, some of ABC’s biggest summer ad bucks — shall continue on.

THE KENNY AND LEE SHOW

The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay ’s biggest complaint about contestants Lee and Kenny on Monday’s episode? That she wasn’t getting any answers from them. Really? It seemed pretty clear that Lee, a singer-songwriter from Nashville, had assumed the role of the season’s official potstirrer, while Kenny, a Las Vegas-based pro wrestler, was merely trying to climb out of the pot. Yes, we have a soft spot for soft-spoken single dad Kenny, whose corny freestyle raps won’t be winning him any bar contests. But more important, Lee’s overconfidence, bullying nature and obnoxious hair swoop should all be giant red flags for the intelligent Rachel.

THE UNOFFICIALLY OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

Deck drinks, sandy feet, Big Brother — these are all official signs of summer, folks. Big Brother 19 marks the steamiest season’s unofficial official kickoff on Wednesday, June 28 (CBS/Global). They finally announced 16 contestants who will enter the house, however any true fan knows a) there will be surprise bonus contestants, and b) said bonus contestants will likely be familiar faces from past seasons. What we do know is the new bunch includes a professional dog walker, a fitness superstar, a microbiologist, a cosplay artist and a rodeo clown. Yee-haw. After Wednesday’s two-hour premiere and Thursday’s one-hour episode, BB19 will air all summer on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
