WILD BEAR RESCUE

The homegrown show set at Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter in British Columbia airs a fresh broadcast. Angelika and Peter Langen continue to care for 40 atrisk black bear cubs, but two yearling bears appear to be too attached to the volunteers to be released to the wild. Angelika must condition them to fear people. (Animal Planet)

THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW

Learn why sweet challenges mean a bitter end for one baker, as the remaining six contestant­s battle for a spot in the quarter-finals. The signature has them rolling out their skills, the technical is a tricky French dessert and the showstoppe­r is a bit of a mousse marathon. (PBS)

MONSTERS INSIDE ME: BRAIN INVADERS

It’s an ominously named new episode for the medical detective docu-series: Worms on the Brain. And it’s exactly what you think it’s about. When terrible headaches grip a young woman, she rushes to a doctor, only to find out that she has swelling of the brain from the presence of at least 10 parasites. (Discovery Science)

Back after first airing in March, this episode is titled Death Inc.: Undercover Inside Canada’s Funeral Homes. The long-running consumer report show heads inside one of Canada’s largest funeral home chains and reveals that consumers need protection from the very people who promise to help you most at your time of need. Pushy upselling and huge markups are among the findings. Plus, the show takes hidden cameras into six funeral homes to see what the sales pitch looks like when you’re dealing with the death of a loved one. (CBC)

CYBERWAR

Friday brings back-toback repeats of this docuseries about the digital informatio­n and its vulnerabil­ities. First, a cyber attack on Ukraine’s power grid leaves thousands of people in the dark as a military conflict involving Russia rages in the east. Then, it’s an up-close look at Russian cybercrime and the big business cashing in on it. Reporter Ben Makuch is the host. (City)
