Trampoline show flies high in fair debut

K-Days soared into new heights with a brand new trampoline show featuring past United States national team members and up and comers.

Featured in the Adrenalin Rush hall, the extreme trampoline show from Flippenout Productions highlights four athletes from the U.S. performing three times a day.

Sean Kennedy, operations manager and team leader, was on the U.S. national team, placed fourth at the Olympic Trials and is currently the Guinness World Record holder for highest bounce.

The 30-minute action-packed show featured synchronized competitive style routines, then ventured into extreme heights by flipping off the transparent wall dividing the two trampoline mats, and then went into flips while wearing a snowboard and skis.

“There’s a lot of height to see, you’ll see a lot of big air and a lot of complex tricks,” Kennedy said.

“A lot of hard things to do that most people cannot do.”

Kennedy is currently training up-and-comer Zoe Conklin, also with the show.

Conklin, 14, started on the trampoline at the age of six and will be moving to the elite level next year.

“It’s really cool having these guys as inspiration,” she said.

Being the only girl out of the four performers, Conklin said sometimes people come up to her after the show inspired.

“It’s really cool to have so many people come up to me and say, ‘Oh, you’re the only girl here, I want to be just like you,’” she said.

One of these visitors was fouryear-old Lena Stangeland, who said her favourite part of the show was when they jumped like SpiderMan.

The world-record move ended the show with Kennedy bouncing on his stomach posing as he flew in the air, being propelled by two other athletes jumping hard every time Kennedy landed, to send him higher into the air.
