Three people have been arrested and police are looking for a fourth after a Bonnyville liquor store employee was shot during an armed robbery Monday.

Mounties responded to an armed robbery at the store on 50 Avenue in Bonnyville — about 243 km northeast of Edmonton — just after midnight, RCMP said in a release Thursday morning.

Upon arrival, police said the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Investigators determined three male suspects had entered the store, with one distracting the employee while the others stole bottles of liquor, the release said.

The male employee was then shot and the suspects fled.

The employee was able to trigger a panic alarm despite his injuries, police said. He was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital and has since been released.

Police said they apprehended two of the suspects at a residence shortly after the robbery. A third was arrested later that day and a stolen vehicle was also recovered.

Walliek St. Clair-White, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault and pointing a firearm.

Colton Delver, 22, faces possession of a weapon dangerous to the public charges.

A 17-year-old male youth is charged with armed robbery with a firearm.

All three were scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

RCMP said a fourth suspect who was alleged to be involved after the robbery is currently at large.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Tyre Youngchief, 20, who is facing several charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Bonnyville RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 780-343-7200 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
