Find your inner “triple threat” at Edmonton Musical Theatre!

-

Founded by Dr. Dasha Goody in 1977, Edmonton Musical Theatre (EMT) is a performance training organization unique to Western Canada.

EMT is dedicated to educating its students to the highest degree of professionalism in the area of musical theatre arts. Training empowers them with a greater appreciation of the arts, a sense of achievement and personal growth, and a new level of confidence.

Our challenging classes encourage each individual student to push the theatrical envelope, so to speak, and enhance their performance skills. Workshops are designed to educate the students to be true “triple threat” performers, offering instruction in vocal performance, choral, dance/movement and drama.

Edmonton Musical Theatre is entering its 41st season. We encourage not only aspiring performers, but also anyone with an interest in musical theatre. If you have a desire to expand your horizons and increase your confidence and communication skills, come and experience the very best in musical theatre performance training in a professional atmosphere.

The instructors foster a positive, non-competitive learning environment allowing you to become your very best performance self. No prior training is required to enrol in our programming.

Programs encompass all age ranges and include: Rising Stars Program (five to seven years), Junior Musical Theatre Program (eight to 10 years), Tween Musical Theatre Program (11-12 years), Teen Musical Theatre Program (13-16 years), and the Adult Musical Theatre Workshop and Master Classes (16 years to as young as you feel). Our adult program provides exceptional training with college and university level instructors conducting the master vocal class.

Thousands of avid students and performers have entered through the EMT door throughout our past 40 years. While not all of our students pursue theatre careers, many have entered into the professional fields of stage, television and radio.

Regardless of whether or not our students pursue active careers in entertainment, their experience at EMT empowers them with a greater appreciation of the arts, a sense of achievement and personal growth, and a new level of confidence.

Edmonton Musical Theatre is pleased to offer the EMT Youth Show Group as part of our 2017/18 season. This program is performance focused and tuition based, and geared towards young teens aged 12-16 who are committed to furthering their training in all three disciplines of musical theatre. Participation in this program is determined by an audition panel that looks for applicants who possess above-average skills in one or more in the disciplines of dance, vocals and acting, with vocals being one of the strongest criteria for participating in the program. Auditions are scheduled for Aug. 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. To book your audition time, email Carly Neis at carly.neis@gmail.com.
