BILL KNIGHT
Knight is an entrepreneur and is known as a philanthropist. He sold his company B&B Demolition and opened Three Knights Investments. He says one of the biggest issues he’s hearing is a lack of credibility on the city’s vision execution, with many projects and programs facing challenges along the way. The three major planks in his platform are infill housing and development, economic growth and social assistance.
SCOTT MCKEEN
McKeen, a former Journal reporter and city hall columnist, was first elected in 2013. He has volunteered as director of the Downtown Edmonton Community League, the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, the Downtown Vibrancy Task Force, the Alberta Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health and the Lieutenant-governor’s Circle on Mental Health and Addiction.
ADIL PIRBHAI
Pirbhai was born in Nairobi, Kenya and has lived in Canada for more than 25 years. He is an accountant and has volunteered for the Heritage Festival, Canadian Blood Services and the Kids with Cancer fundraising golf tournament. He wants limits on campaign spending, repair of potholes, costeffective snow removal, increased supports of festivals, additional social housing, a reinstatement of rental tax credits and an updated transit fare policy.
TISH PROUSE
Tish Prouse was an archaeologist and supervisor with UNESCO World Heritage Projects in Turkey and Central Asia who is fluent in French and Russian and knows some Arabic, Turkish and German. Now he is a small-business owner who works fixing up mature homes. He was recently president of the Eastwood Community League. Prouse says the single most important issue is homelessness.
