CANDIDATES
VIERI BERRETTI
Berretti is a businessman and former president of non-profit visual arts centre Latitude 53. He’s interested in such areas as preserving the look of neighbourhoods, local input to developing surplus school sites and traffic congestion at LRT crossings.
SAMANTHA HEES
Hees lives in Royal Gardens and is an administrator at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She wants to make the city food secure, create responsible infill and have accessible transit.
SIM SENOL
Pleasantview resident Senol is a human resources and budget co-ordinator at the University of Alberta’s Centre for Teaching and Learning. Her platform involves planning for smart densification, a progressive transit strategy and a growing immigrant population.
MICHAEL WALTERS
Walters, the ward incumbent first elected to council in 2013, is the former head of the Greater Edmonton Alliance and director of the North Central Edmonton Community Action Project. He’s working on issues that include public engagement, the city’s new transit strategy and better infill.
GLENDA WILLIAMS
Williams is a community volunteer and former weekly newspaper reporter. She’s concerned about safety and security, alley maintenance, neighbourhood revitalization, infill housing, photo radar and affordable housing.
