Shower, faucet collections makes wood a focal point
Bathroom fixtures made of wood sound like an odd choice, but that view is being challenged by a U.K.based bathroom retailer.
As QS Supplies sees it: “Wood has been the construction material of choice since ancient times, with extensive use in the manufacture of homes, boats and even pipes,”
With that in mind, the company has come up with a collection of shower faucets and sink taps that predominantly feature wood.
Among the more notable designs:
Wooden Shower Column: While the showerhead, set-handset and hose are made of stainless steel, the central panel itself is constructed with wood.
Ladder Shower Column with Cascade Showerhead: Don’t let the warping ladder look deceive the eye. This setup utilizes highquality wood combined with a rectangular plate-like shower head and a handset. It’s designed to provide smooth water flow. Candid at the Sink-Basin Mixer Tap: The setup resembles a shelf ideal for toiletries and its square hot-and-cold tap knobs could be mistaken for towel holders. But this concept uses ceramic disc technology to allow a seamless, uninterrupted stream of tap water to flow out of its thin opening.
Geometric Rapture Basin Mixer Tap: The curved rectangular tap is constructed in wood; the spout and base are metal. Using the wooden side handle enables a cascading flow of tap water. Pricing is not available, and use of the term “bathroom concepts” suggests they have yet to hit the market.
