Producer seeks ‘vivacious’ realtors who can bring the house down on TV shows

-

Edmonton homebuyers and sellers, it’s time for your close-up.

A Kelowna company is looking for local real estate agents, as well as people who want to buy or sell homes, to appear in two TV shows it produces — Seller’s Market and See it. Love it. Buy it.

On Seller’s Market, five agents compete for a listing each week. The winner sits out the following week’s competition.

“I’m looking for top agents, vivacious, larger-than-life agents who are very, very good at what they do,” executive producer TJ Lynch of Visland Media Inc. said Monday.

“We want a little bit of drama, a little bit of comedy.”

The first season was shot in Kelowna, but the 13-episode second season will be shot and aired locally in Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria, Vancouver, Hamilton and Toronto, Lynch said.

See It. Love it. Buy it., which will be shot and aired in the same six markets, follows people trying to buy a place to live.

Lynch will be in Edmonton to audition real estate agents for 18 positions next week, and also wants 13 buyers and 13 sellers for roles that will take one or two days.

“I guess the criteria we have is just unique stories, unique properties, couples, singles, families.”

Buyers and sellers will be paid an appearance fee, and buyers might receive discounted legal services or home inspections, but Lynch wouldn’t discuss the financial arrangements in detail.

Shooting will be done next summer and fall, with shows airing in Edmonton in spring 2019.
