Nonprofit helps those with disabilities find fulfilling work

- EmPloyabilities

EmployAbilities (EA) is a non-profit charitable organization providing services to Edmonton, North Central – East regions and their surrounding areas for over 43 years. EA works with adults and youth with medical conditions, disabilities and barriers to employment.

EA provides services to individuals with barriers to employment, permanent injuries, disabilities, and medical conditions.

We also help employers by acting as a liaison to encourage employment opportunities and provide assistance with basic human resource issues. To the community at large we promote and build awareness of employment for those with barriers to employment, permanent injuries, disabilities and medical conditions.

And we practice what we preach. Approximately 85 per cent of our staff have a disability.

EA is recognized as a leader in developing and managing programs, services, and resources designed to reduce barriers for individuals and increase participation in the labor force.

Our success in placing our participants stems from our ongoing efforts to understand the demands of today’s workplace and respond to the current labour market and the needs of employers.

EA has built strong working alliances with the business community, individual employers, and business associations. As a result, employers know they can trust our services and have become repeat customers.
