Honorary degree for Suzuki unwise
The University of Alberta has shown a lack of sensitivity to Albertans and very poor political judgment to grant an honorary degree to David Suzuki at this time.
This is the man who prides himself as a leading eco-zealot, using Greenpeace tactics of lies, half-truths and omissions to persuade people to oppose a pipeline that will bring increased wealth to Canada and Alberta and many more well-paid jobs.
Does this sound like a man who should be honoured? David Suzuki’s vision of the future Canadian economy would impoverish all of us and there would be a lot fewer dollars available for academic institutions such as the U of A. Gerhard Henkemans, Edmonton
