Violent offender out on parole, living in city

-

Police believe a man with an extensive history of extreme physical violence that includes random attacks against women and who now lives in Edmonton has a high risk of reoffending.

While the release of Adam Donovan Adie comes with a long list of court-ordered conditions, police are concerned because of his long history of violence, which is heightened by the consumption of alcohol and drugs.

Adie will be monitored by the police’s behavioural assessment unit now that he is residing in the city.

In a news release Thursday, police said the 47-year-old is known for random attacks against men and women that include assaults with weapons.

Adie is five-foot-10 and 209 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

Conditions of his release include abstaining from the possession or consumption of alcohol and drugs, including cannabis, and a daily curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Adie must not possess any drug paraphernalia, must not be found in any licensed premises other than a dining room for the sole purpose of having a meal, must not leave the city of Edmonton without approval of his supervisor, must not be in possession of any weapons and must not enter into a dating, intimate, sexual relationship with any person or any friendships with females until her identity has been disclosed and she has been informed of his previous offences by his supervisor.
