Averton welcomes spring with down-payment draw

- RYAN GARNER

The snow is gone and that means home-buying season is here. However, this year Averton Homes wants to make things a little easier for those looking for a new space.

Averton will be giving away a $25,000 down payment on any of its newly built homes in the Edmonton area at its Spring Celebration event on Saturday at Pivot at Rutherford, a townhome community located at 1304 Rutherford Road SW. Those interested in participating in the draw can visit any of Averton’s Edmonton sales centres to enter.

The Averton Spring Celebration will begin at 11 a.m., with the draw scheduled for 4 p.m. There will be food trucks present and fun-filled activities lined up for kids of all ages. Also, a limited number of quick possession homes will see spring celebration pricing for a limited time, starting Saturday and running until June 15.

“It’s been a long, cold, snowy winter and spring is finally here,” said Paul Lanni, president of Averton Homes. “For the past few years buying a new home hasn’t been an easy decision for some people. We want to make the home buying process a little bit easier for Edmontonians. We think that’s something worth celebrating, just as much as the appearance of summer.”

Averton is a third-generation, family-run business with a history of innovative projects. Most recently, Averton built the 2018 Full House Lottery first grand prize home in Edmonton’s Windermere neighbourhood, measuring 5,411 square feet.

“We’re based in Edmonton but we are students of the industry from around North America,” said Lanni. “We’re always looking to see what’s out there. We ask ourselves what we can do better and how we can meet the needs of Edmontonians in a way no one else can.”

For Averton, design is everything. The company ’s spring event will be held at Pivot because it exemplifies the company’s contemporary approach, which features an elegant, open design with large windows to let in plenty of natural light.

“In a project like Pivot, we’ve been bold enough to design something that will stand up in any market in North America,” said Lanni. “We’re not shy about taking that kind of chance, but also really making an investment into the quality of our product. Where we’re located in a site like Rutherford is unique, because it’s effectively an infill site in a mature area. Rutherford was built out 15 years ago, so we benefit from mature trees.”
