Four people have been hit with a total of 27 charges after Mounties searched a motorcycle clubhouse in Red Deer connected to the Hells Angels.

Didsbury RCMP said Friday the charges are related to an alleged kidnapping, an assault and a breakand-enter that took place in June.

Police say the offences were committed by associates of an outlaw motorcycle gang out of Red Deer called the Syndicate Motorcycle Club.

On June 17, Mounties say three people abducted two women from Olds, before bringing their captives to the Syndicate’s clubhouse in Red Deer. Police say one of the women was assaulted before both were released by their captors.

And on June 29, police allege three different suspects went to the same victims’s home in Didsbury, broke into the residence and later stole one of the women’s cars.

An investigation, launched by members of the Didsbury RCMP, determined the Syndicate Motorcycle Club is a support club for the Nomads chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

RCMP Cpl. Laurel Scott said outlaw motorcycle gangs are very much still active in the province and have strong ties to organized crime in Alberta.

Didsbury RCMP Staff Sgt. Chad Fournier said disrupting these gangs is “a key component to crime reduction . ... combating outlaw motorcycle gang members and their related organized criminal activities remains a top national priority ... outlaw motorcycle gangs represent a threat to the safety and well-being of Canadians.”

Police say four suspects were arrested without incident in Red Deer on Tuesday. Police then raided the Syndicate Motorcycle Club Clubhouse in Red Deer.

On Wednesday, police executed a second search warrant at a residence in Red Deer where officers sized cocaine, cash and further evidence.
