Road closures make getting to the Grey Cup a challenge

With a number of road closures and alternate bus routes, fans attending Sunday’s Grey Cup at Commonweal­th Stadium will need a solid game plan of their own to get to and from the big game.

TAKING LRT

The city is recommendi­ng fans take advantage of public transit with Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) offering free LRT service from 11 a.m. until two hours after the game for anyone with a ticket to the Grey Cup. Children 12 and under who are accompanie­d by an adult can also ride for free.

The Capital LRT line, which stops at the Stadium station, will operate every 15 minutes until noon when frequency will pick up to every seven to eight minutes until 10 p.m. The Metro LRT line will operate on its regular Sunday schedule.

ROAD CLOSURES

With all the hustle and bustle in and around Commonweal­th Stadium, the following road closures and parking restrictio­ns will be in effect Sunday:

Parking lots at the stadium and

recreation centre will be closed;

Residentia­l parking restrictio­ns

■ will be in effect around the stadium;

Stadium Road will be closed;

110 Avenue, 90 Street to 92 Street

will operate as a one-way westbound from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

PARK AND RIDE

Park and ride services to and from the game will start at 1:30 p.m., with the last bus departing before the game at 5 p.m.

Buses returning fans to their lots will begin departing the stadium at 7 p.m. until Commonweal­th Stadium is empty.
