Family time and shared experiences are so important for connection. Special outings create the best memories, and what makes a better gift than that?

With that in mind, one of Alberta’s top family attractions — Calaway Park — is offering a huge discount on its 2019 season passes just in time for holiday gift giving.

This is a gift that can be enjoyed time after time by your own family, or those on your list. Visit as many times as you like through the season, with flexibility to work around schedules, weather and even tired kids!

Until Jan. 1, 2019, season passes are available for $43.95 plus GST, either online at calawaypark.com/ season-passes or by visiting your local Calgary Co-op location. It’s the lowest price of the year; a savings of 63 per cent. At this price, a pass pays for itself by your second visit.

Calaway Park is Western Canada’s largest outdoor family amusement park, with more than 30 rides, 24 games, 20 food locations, live entertainment, the Cinemagic 3D theatre and Haunted Hotel.

They say your smile is their mission, and they mean it! Now in its 38th year of operation, the park attracts people from across Alberta and the West.

Families return every year for new rides and entertainment. What’s new for 2019? General manager Bob Williams, who has been with the park for 28 years, says “even though Calaway Park has been part of the Calgary community for many years, we work hard to bring new rides and entertainment every season. We’ve added three new rides in as many years, from Dizzy Dragons two years ago, to Sky Wynder last year and Bumble Blast, Calaway Park’s new ride for 2019.”

Bumble Blast is a spinning coaster that twists and turns along a figure-eight shaped track.

What does your 2019 season pass include?

The whole family will enjoy unlimited rides, entertaining live stage shows, plus access to both the 3D Theatre and Haunted Hotel. As a bonus, your parking is included, too! Calaway Park also has a Flash Your Pass deal where you can show your 2019 Season Pass and save 10 per cent at select food and retail locations all summer long.

If you’re visiting from out of town and planning to stay in the area in the summer, remember that you can use the Flash Your Pass feature at the Calaway RV Park and Campground to receive 10 per cent off your stay. (See calawaypark.com for details.)

As an added bonus, all 2019 season pass holders receive a sneak peek to Calaway Park’s 2019 season on Sunday, May 12. The park opens to the public on May 18. Don’t forget they’re open until 9 p.m. on Friday nights in July for those who want to stay a little longer for some evening fun.

“Calaway Park is a rare opportunity for young entertainers in Calgary to find paid work doing what they love, Calaway Park hires up to 30 people each year for the street and stage casts,” Williams says. “These talented youth help us offer the fully integrated experience our park visitors love.”

The Calaway Park team is made up of 40 permanent employees and 660 young seasonal workers. They also host a work-for-credit program where students can work under the supervision of a teacher for high school credit. With a deep commitment to give back, Calaway Park has a scholarship program as well as giving generously to non-profits in the community.
