Ross is survived by his wife, of 34 years, Petronila; daughter, Ria-rose (Evan) Franiel; sons, Alan (Louise) Fourney, Peter (Lorina) Fourney; sisters, Pearl Foubert, Ethyl Albrecht; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ross was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to many wonderful people. Ross was born in Bainsville, Ontario and was predeceased by his parents Joshua and Alberta and six brothers. He served with the Canadian Army from January 28, 1943 until he was honourably discharged on July 31, 1946. He was awarded the following medals and decorations: 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-45. Ross was very proud of his service with the Canadian Army and was a very kind, generous individual, leaving an impression on every person he met. He loved to watch The Young and the Restless, watching it like clockwork every noon during the week and passed this love on to his daughter who often watched it with him. He also enjoyed gardening and baking. He loved animals and cared for many of them over the years, with that love being reciprocated dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Norwood Centre in Edmonton for their loving care and support during his final days. A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Ross’s Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
