Forget streaming video and true crime podcasts. Some of the most mesmerizing online content right now is the stunning imagery of Edmonton’s finest show homes experienced through virtual tours. It’s where two great at-home past times meet: binge-watching and online shopping.

Rohit Land Development has just launched virtual tours of show homes in its Arbours of Keswick, Woodhaven Edgemont and Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine neighbourhoods. Using Google Maps technology, the virtual tours take the visitor on a step-by-step, room-by-room journey through each builder’s fully furnished and glamourously accessorized model homes.

Kelsey Siemens, Rohit marketing coordinator, says a photographer took hundreds of images of every home and stitched them together to create each detailed tour. The high-quality visuals combined with familiar Google technology provides a precise look at every show home, enabling the user to position themselves in the middle of the room and enjoy a 360-degree view. It’s superior to other current methods of displaying homes on the web.

“Our builders love that our virtual tour technology is clean and easy to navigate,” Siemens says. “It’s something fresh and new to look at on the Internet.”

Rather than travel through the house, homebuyers can click on an adjacent floor plan image to view a specific room. A more focused look allows new homebuyers to narrow their options before deciding to visit a home in person.

Virtual tours are open 24 hours a day in Rohit’s Arbours of Keswick community, featuring homes from Kanvi Homes, Kimberley Homes, Excel Homes and Rohit Communities with a new estate home by Dolce Vita Homes coming soon.

“What’s unique is that Kanvi just opened their Bespoke Onyx home, and a lot of people will see it online for the first time,” Siemens says.

The Woodhaven virtual show home parade includes an awardwinning model by Blackstone Homes, single-family and duplex homes by Dolce Vita and singlefamily homes by Park Royal and Rohit Communities.

Rohit’s newest community, Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine, features homes by Rohit Communities, Blackstone, San Rufo Homes, Art Homes and Gill Built. Siemens says the Ridgecrest virtual tours are special because few have seen those show homes yet.

“Our launch was supposed to be a month ago when everything first hit,” she says. “So a lot of people’s first looks are going to be virtual, which will be very unique.”
