SPECIAL PROJECT REOPENING

-

As the coronavirus pandemic ebbs, the Canadian economy is opening up, business by business. A new initiative by Postmedia called Reopening Canada will provide a cross-country look at how national, regional and local economies are picking up steam.

The project, which launches June 27, the weekend before Canada Day, will appear in print and online at Postmedia’s metro and community properties — dozens of titles in print, online and on mobile platforms across Canada.

The editorial component will include an overview from experts at the Financial Post about the reawakening economy, along with local stories that spotlight the recovery in sectors such as restaurants, hotels and lodgings, retail, real estate, travel and tourism, the arts and finance.

Reopening Canada will also provide advertising support to local businesses in the cities and communities where it operates. The program includes a full marketing grant program to some businesses in the hardest-hit sectors of the economy, including the restaurant, tourism and hospitality sectors.

In addition, local advertisers can apply to the matching fund program for up to $15,000 in certain sectors.

“We want to leverage our 125plus brands and more than 17 million monthly unique visitors to support the economic reopening of our country,” said Andrew

Macleod, president and CEO of Postmedia.

“So many industries have been devastated by this crisis, none more so than the restaurant, tourism and hospitality sectors. We want to support these and all industries as we turn our focus to economic growth.”

More information about the full marketing grant program and the matching grant program can be found at postmediasolutions.com/grant.
