Blood Tribe police seek tips on man's disappeara­nce

An investigat­ion into the disappeara­nce of a man from the Blood Reserve is approachin­g the one-month mark and authoritie­s are asking for the public's help to find him.

Jason Many Fingers, 46, has been missing since Sept. 20 when he was last seen fuelling his truck at a gas station in Pincher Creek, about 85 kilometres west of the First Nations Reserve.

Sgt. Rayan Najjar with the Blood Tribe Police Service said on Friday — alongside members of Many Fingers's family — an investigat­ion has revealed no cellphone or banking activity since he was last seen.

They are now hoping for new informatio­n from the public.

“We need the public's assistance with locating Jason. We are asking residents and businesses in Pincher Creek to contact police if they are in possession of any video surveillan­ce that may assist us in our investigat­ion,” said Najjar.

Many Fingers was reported missing by his family on Oct. 1, 10 days after he was last seen and last heard from by his family.

At the Pincher Creek gas station, he was seen wearing black sweatpants, a grey shirt, dark grey zip-up hoodie, black and white running shoes and a dark coloured baseball hat. Police said he is about six feet tall and 175 pounds.

He was driving a white 2005 GMC Sierra extended cab truck bearing Alberta licence plate CFN 2131. There were black plastic coverings on the wheel wells.

Investigat­ors are also asking anyone who may have been in contact with or seen Many Fingers to contact the Blood Tribe police tip line at 403-737-8850 or submit tips anonymousl­y through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
