TIMELINE OF EDMONTON HOMICIDES

Jan. 26

Aaron Watt, 24, was found dead in an alley near 126 Avenue and 73 Street in the Balwin neighbourhood. Police have not released his cause of death and no one has been charged.

Jan. 23

Harun Baran, 40, went missing on Jan. 22 and the following day, was found dead inside his vehicle after police conducted a search near 48 Street and Mill Woods Road South. He died of “sharp force injuries.” Tristan Taschuk is charged with second-degree murder.

Feb. 8

Mohamed Makaran, 32, died of a gunshot wound in an apartment suite on Mcconachie Boulevard. Mohamed Dhiblawe is charged with second-degree murder.

Feb. 12

Sherri Lynn Gauthier, 33, died of sharp force injuries in an Edmonton City Centre parkade. Elliot Mcleod is charged with second-degree murder.

Feb. 18

Emery John Cardinal, 35, was found injured near Stony Plain Road and 152 Street. He later died in hospital. Police have not released his cause of death. Jacob Alan Monninger Cullum and Dante Ace Russo have each been charged with second-degree murder.

March 9

Kirk Dallas Powder Taylor, 42, died of a gunshot wound after being found injured in an alley near 97 Street and 106 Avenue. No one has been charged.

May 18

Bella Rose Desrosiers, 7, died of sharp-force injuries at a home near 43 Street and 25 Avenue. David

Moss is charged with second-degree murder.

May 24

Lisa Arsenault, 48, was found dead in a suite at the Royal Lodge motel near 38th Avenue and Gateway Boulevard. Ian Stewart Gainer is charged with first-degree murder.

June 13

Samer Farzat Chehimi, 34, was shot and killed at his apartment near Brintnell Boulevard and 167 Avenue. No one has been charged.

July 11

Teresa Dejesus Esquivel-robles,

39, was stabbed to death at a home near Mullen Road and Mullen Place. Police are treating her death as a murder-suicide after her husband, Luis Antonio Candela-gonzalez, was found dead in B.C.

July 13

Matthew Jordan Gladue, 36, was found injured in an alley near 104 Street and 112 Avenue. He later died in hospital and his cause of death has been withheld. No one has been charged.

July 17

Wael Osman, 19, was shot and killed during a party at a home near

184 Street and 8A Avenue in the city's southwest. No one has been charged.

July 22

Abdikhadar Aden, 31, died after being found injured at a motel near 153 Street and 111 Avenue. His cause of death has been withheld and no one has been charged.

July 19

Audrey Corcoran, 33, died of a stab wound at a home in Kensington. Ashley Courterielle is charged with second-degree murder. Police did not reveal her death until Aug. 5.

Aug. 5

Tyler Lines, 38, died of blunt-force trauma after an assault near 119 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive. Riad El-mir is charged with first-degree murder.

Aug. 6

Michael Podgorney, 46, died of stab wounds near 166 Street and Stony Plain Road. A 17-year-old youth is charged with second-degree murder.

Aug. 6

Riel Stamp, 26, died of stab wounds at a home near 24 Avenue and

108 Street. Brett Cordelius Stamp is charged with first-degree murder.

Aug. 22

Russell William Storoschuk, 68, died from blunt-force trauma after he was found injured following a fight by a bus stop near 118 Avenue and 42 Street. Darrell David Taylor is charged with second-degree murder.

Aug. 26

Deng Malith Deng, 32, died following a shooting at a multi-unit residence near 109 Avenue and 97 Street. No one has been charged.

Sept. 2

Troy Boone, 15, died of sharp-force injuries after he was found severely injured in a hotel parking lot near 137 Avenue and 97 Street. He later died in hospital. Bradley Michael Edward Alma and Bradley Clifford Leland have each been charged with second-degree murder.

Sept. 18

Marty Powder, 48, was shot and killed by Edmonton police near 118 Avenue and 69 Street. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating.

Oct. 2

Sierra Chalifoux-thompson, 13, was stabbed during an assault near 75 Street and Mount Lawn Road N.W. A female youth has been charged with second-degree murder.

Oct. 10

Jessie Ducharme, 32, died of stab wounds at a residence near

180 Street and 74 Avenue. No one has been charged.

Oct. 14

Justin Wade Highet, 34, was shot to death inside a home near 172 Avenue and 47 Street. Aaron Myles Atchooay is charged with second-degree murder.

Oct. 19

Cody Bugle, 28, died of stab wounds after being found in medical distress by police in the area of 117 Avenue and 82 Street. No one has been charged.

May 9

Mohamed Amin Hassan Jama, 34, was found dead inside an apartment suite near 107 Avenue and 116 Street in May but his death wasn't ruled a homicide until Oct. 29. His cause of death has been withheld and no one has been charged.

June 26

Rajan Bariach, 31, died following a hit and run in June near 107 Avenue between 101 and 102 Street. His death wasn't ruled a homicide until Oct. 29 and no one has been charged.

July 26

Gabriel Sunshine, 24, died at a home near 16 Avenue and 42 Street in July but his death wasn't ruled a homicide until Oct. 29. His cause of death is pending due to further testing. No one has been charged.

Nov. 1

Frankie Sawan, 24, died of a sharpforce injury in hospital after he was found injured at a home near 104 Street and 67 Avenue. Roland Blind is charged with second-degree murder.

Oct. 31

Jordan Turnbull, 27, died of a sharpforce injury following a report of a stabbing in the area of Alex Taylor Road. His death wasn't ruled a homicide until Nov. 5. Chaze Myron Johnson is charged with second-degree murder.

Nov. 11

Darrin Dean Cross, 37, died of a gunshot wound inside a home near 120 Avenue and 102 Street.

Nov. 12

Clifford Stamp, 38, was found dead on an ice floe on the North Saskatchewan River near Dawson Bridge. His cause of death has been withheld and no one has been charged.

Nov. 24

Abdirahman Hashi, 25, died of a gunshot wound after being found inside a vehicle near 121 Street and 146 Avenue. No one has been charged.

Nov. 20

Jonathan Robert Miller, 46, died in a suite at the Melcor YMCA village near 103 Avenue and 95 Street. His death was not ruled a homicide until Dec. 2 and his cause of death is pending due to further testing. Darnell Richard Belcourt is charged with second-degree murder.

Dec. 8

Mahad Bashir Farah, 25, died of a gunshot wound near 109 Street and 109 Avenue. No one has been charged.

Dec. 9

Rauf Abdu Muzero, 20, was found dead inside a townhouse near 34 Avenue and 58 Street. His cause of death has been withheld and no one has been charged.

Dec. 6

Two-year-old boy. Police were called to a home in southeast Edmonton for a two-year-old boy in medical distress who later died in hospital. His name and cause of death have been withheld by police. His death was not revealed until Dec. 18 and no one has been charged.
