Upgrade. It’s one of those words in the English language that induce an endorphin rush when you’re offered one. (Anyone who read about my adventures on Emirates knows that I experienced a pronounced “neurohormonal surge” when I was upgraded from business to first class on this flying palace.) When we were planning our September issue—the real New Year for most of us—we wanted to take that desire for a fresh start and bump it up a notch by exploring how you can give your life a boost. But first, let me tell you about some of our own upgrades.
