This is a brand that cel­e­brates who you are as well as your cre­ativ­ity. I al­ways say you can achieve any­thing at M.A.C as long as you have that vi­sion (and un­der­stand that you’re go­ing to have to work hard!). When founders Frank Toskan and Frank An­gelo cre­ated the brand, they wanted peo­ple who didn’t be­long any­where else to have a place with us. Our artists (over 18,000 of them in 95 coun­tries) bring what I call the ‘M.A.C gospel’: all ages, all races, all sexes—allinclu­sive. Peo­ple want to work for us be­cause they feel like they make a dif­fer­ence in the world. That’s a very pow­er­ful thing, and that’s what makes us sus­tain­able [as a com­pany].

“Suc­cess comes down to your re­la­tion­ships and your de­ter­mi­na­tion. My ad­vice? Take steps to do what’s right, and don’t be afraid to be bold about what you want. Know that you’re go­ing to make mis­takes along the way and that it’s not about the mis­takes made; it’s about how you re­cover from them. It’s not about how you han­dle your­self dur­ing the good times; it’s about how you han­dle your­self in the bad times. Those char­ac­ter-defin­ing mo­ments are what build strength: I know that I will fall down and I will get up.
