MUSCLE SHOALS ( 2013)
This film tells the tale of a small-town music studio that created icons and attracted legends while sketching a portrait of race relations and music in the 1960s Deep South. In this tiny rural town on the Alabama border, Aretha Franklin belted out “I Never Loved a Man (the Way I Loved You)” and the Rolling Stones cut part of their most popular album, Sticky Fingers. ■
