FROM MONTREAL TO MAYFAIR

A TIMELINE OF A L L THINGS ERDEM.

2000

After leaving his hometown of Montreal to attend the fashion program at Ryerson University in Toronto, Moralioglu moves to London to attend the Royal College of Art. Aside from a stint working with Diane von Furstenberg in New York (nbd), he has remained overseas ever since.

2005

Erdem is born (the label, not the designer, obvi).

2008–9

Hollywood comes calling with stars like Thandie Newton, Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller among the first to wear the now redcarpet staple.

2011

A certain duchess wears two Erdem dresses while in Canada on a royal tour. (Her potential SIL Meghan Markle is also a fan. She wore a floral creation to a wedding with Harry.)

2015

Moralioglu wins his first International Canadian Designer of the Year Award at the CAFAs. In August, he opens his flagship store in Mayfair, in London.

2016

Erdem launches accessories, including shoes and jewellery.

2017

Bravo! The designer wins a second CAFA award and announces that he is creating costumes for a one-act performance at the Royal Ballet in London.
