FINALE

Forget about taking a slow, measured parade down the aisle. The finale at Chanel’s spring/ summer 2018 haute couture show featured model Luna Bijl walking purposefully and powerfully down the gravel runway wearing a wedding tuxedo. Pairing the unexpected (tailored trousers, low-heeled boots and a snappy bow tie) with the more classic elements of bridalwear (a frothy train and a camellia-topped veil) resulted in the perfect je ne sais quoi mix of insouciance and elegance. A modern romance indeed. n
