The Pro­vin­cial Ar­chive is an Ed­mon­ton-based. Ed­mon­ton’s in­die-pop trio, THE PRO­VIN­CIAL AR­CHIVE, has been hon­ing their craft through dark win­ters over the last six years, re­leas­ing three records to crit­i­cal ac­claim, tour­ing the coun­try and trav­el­ling the world: all from the re­mote blue-col­lar out­post that the band calls home. Recorded, live-off-the floor, with). The re­sult is a self-ti­tled power- pop con­fes­sional, teem­ing with in­flu­ence from some­where be­tween 1994-1996: re­plete with the dy­nam­ics, dirty gui­tars, and mem­o­rable, fuzzy vo­cal hooks that hall­mark the era. For the band, it’s an af­fir­ma­tion of se­cond-na­ture song­writ­ing that re­tains the po­etic voice and melody for which they are rec­og­nized.
