The Provincial Archive is an Edmonton-based. Edmonton’s indie-pop trio, THE PROVINCIAL ARCHIVE, has been honing their craft through dark winters over the last six years, releasing three records to critical acclaim, touring the country and travelling the world: all from the remote blue-collar outpost that the band calls home. Recorded, live-off-the floor, with). The result is a self-titled power- pop confessional, teeming with influence from somewhere between 1994-1996: replete with the dynamics, dirty guitars, and memorable, fuzzy vocal hooks that hallmark the era. For the band, it’s an affirmation of second-nature songwriting that retains the poetic voice and melody for which they are recognized.
