- JORDAN PEELE BY JOSIAH HUGHES

GET IN

With Get Out, Jordan Peele quickly became the most sought-after director in Hollywood. He’s explained that he has plans to make multiple “social thrillers” thematically similar to Get Out, but now he’s considering an actual sequel. “I will definitely seriously consider it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I love that universe and I feel like there is more story to tell. I don’t know what it is now, but there are some loose ends... that feel like they want to be tied up.”

CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, TOO

Although it didn’t exactly sweep the Oscars, Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2017. Rather than try his luck with a new batch of characters, Guadagnino’s set to return to the lives of Oliver and Elio with a followup. Speaking with USA Today, he said the sequel will take place five years after the original, and will have the characters travelling the world together. Here’s hoping he calls it Call Me By Your Name, Too.

OFFICER HETFIELD

Having co-directed Some Kind of Monster with Bruce Sinofsky, Joe Berlinger must understand James Hetfield on a whole new level — and now he’s cast the Metallica frontman in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, his new movie about Ted Bundy. Hetfield will play Bob Hayward, the highway patrol veteran who was the first person to arrest Bundy in 1975. Bundy is played by Zac Efron, getting us closer to our dream Metallica/ High School Musical crossover.

URBAN THEFT

Josh and Benny Safdie’s Good Time was the coolest movie of 2017, and its influence is all over the place. Hell, they’ve even caught the attention of country pop superstar Keith Urban. Announcing his ridiculously titled “Graffiti U” tour, Urban shared a poster that used the exact same typography as the Safdie bros. They called him out on Twitter, as did production company A24, but Urban didn’t respond. Here’s hoping he follows through and releases a collaboration with Oneohtrix Point Never.

FLAMIN’ HOT CINEMA

There’s no easy way to say this — Hollywood is working on a movie about Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Before you start typing angry tweets with your orange dust-encrusted fingers, it’s actually a pretty interesting story. Richard Montanez was a Frito-Lay janitor who invented the spicy snack, earning the company billions and climbing the ranks as an executive. Too bad it’s called Flamin’ Hot.
