Readers’ Letters

-

I always enjoy reading your magazine, but the April issue was even more fun. Playing with the flip book and realizing that every image of Coco Rocha still matched was very exciting. I like all of my smart devices, but when it comes to reading, I only read printed magazines. We live in a world where everything happens so fast, and we forget about the simple pleasures in life, such as tasting, smelling, seeing, listening and touching. Thank you, FASHION, for reminding us that tactile experiences are pure pleasure. —Doris Morris (Thornhill, Ont.)

BALANCING ACT

Thank you, FasHion ! I had “all the feels” for your April 2017 issue. The cover sparkled on the newsstand. The issue pulled me out of my Instagram feed long enough to provide a well-needed perspective on the balance we must achieve between the IRL and URL worlds. I also appreciated hearing Coco Rocha’s story (“Digital Savant”) about how she uses social media to further her brand, counter negativity and become a role model for her followers. We can all learn from Coco. —Erica adelson (Toronto)

MODEL CITIZEN

Kudos to Jourdan Dunn (“Power Up,” May 2017), who is a working single mother, a passionate cook, a political advocate, an ambassador for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and a proponent of loving oneself. She lives by her mantra “fear is not an option.” It’s no wonder she’s an inspiration to her two million social media followers. —Linda Lettieri (Mississauga)

RAISING THE BAR

I’ve been reading FasHion for years— decades really—and have always thought of it as a colourful eye-candy treat. But your April issue amazed me because it had so many relevant and original articles with substance as well as the usual great style. It’s the first issue that I’ve read every page nonstop. The cover was also a fun reminder of my daughters’ childhood flip books. Thanks for the work in putting it together! Now that you’ve raised the bar for a fashion magazine, I’ll be waiting for your next issue to see if you can do it again! —Lana Parn (Etobicoke, ont.)
