- A.C. PASSIOUR

Here are some queer comics appearing at this year’s edition of the Just For Laughs Festival: Jessica Kirson is a Jewish-American actress, comedian and first-time parent with her partner. On top of her recent role in The Comedian, she was awarded Best Female Comic by the MAC association and Nightlife Award for Best Stand-up Comedian in NYC. Sabrina Jalees is a Canadian comedian, actor, and writer based in Los Angeles of Swiss-Pakistani descent. She has cracked up audiences on three continents, is a JFL favourite, and received huge praise for a recent Ted Talk in which she humorously addresses her cultural background and sexual orientation. James Adomian is an ArmenianAmerican who has been cracking up audiences around the world with his impressions and character comedy, exploring politics and pop culture from a queer point of view. Notably, he was a Top 10 finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and named one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch. Joe Lycett is a Brit and big face on the UK scene with critical acclaim and sell-out shows. He is winner of the 2016 Chortle Award for "Best Show" and is a regular on a number of prominent UK panel TV shows. Joe doesn’t shy away from topics of sexual orientation in his stand-up acts and openly identifies as pansexual. The absolutely hilarious Gina Yashere is a Black lesbian born to Nigerian parents in the UK and proud of her plural identity. Gina is a JFL favourite, has been a stand-up and TV star in the UK for several years and has been named one of the top 10 rising talents by The Hollywood Reporter.
