Yi Tao, founder of the FX Beauty Bank, a very upscale nail salon in Cambridge, is passionate about her work.

“I’M DEDICATED to establishing the gold standard in nail care and have created an environment conducive to that goal.” And what an environment it is. Located at the corner of Main and Water Streets in downtown Galt, Yi purchased the old Bank of Montreal building and transformed the antique space into the most upscale and luxurious nail salon in Waterloo Region. “Our philosophy is that we use only the best products available, products like OPI, CND, ENTITY, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL and NAIL HARMONY.” She states. “For our regular polish line, we use Deborah Lippmann and CND Vinylux. We’re committed to using only the best.” That FX Beauty Bank uses only the best is readily evident as soon as you enter the salon.The interior is stunning with a grand reception station in the middle of the great hall and workstations on either side. On the left are the manicure tables and on the right the pedicure lounges.

These pedicure lounges are particularly special. Manufactured by Gulfstream in Cambridge, they gently massage the client’s back while they enjoy their pedicure. In addition, the chairs’ water bowls contain no tubing or water jets.The warm water in the foot bowl is agitated through a magnetic impeller that gently swirls the water in the bowl and guarantees absolute sterility, as no residue is left behind from one client to the next. “No other nail salon in Canada has these chairs, as they are the latest, state-of-theart pedicure chairs available and I wanted to make sure that when we opened our doors we would offer only the best.” Explains Yi. But there’s more to being ‘the best’ than meets the eye. Sanitation plays a very large role in nail salons and once again, Yi is uncompromising. “We use medical grade sterilization units and disposable single-use tools like nail files and buffers to ensure that we offer only the most hygienic treatments.” Again, the incredible standard of cleanliness is evident in every nook and cranny of the FX Beauty Bank. In addition, Yi’s staff is trained to the highest professional standards. “All of our technicians are well educated, properly trained and certified as professional nail technicians in Ontario.” She proudly states. Yi comes through her passion for outstanding nail care honestly. Having worked at Toronto’s Polish’d Nail Salon located in the Exchange Tower in the heart of Toronto’s financial district, Yi learned the importance of excellence in upscale nail care and is now bringing that valuable experience to her own salon in Waterloo Region. “I’ve always had a passion for the best.” Yi states. “After all, only the best and the worst are ever noticed. I prefer to be noticed as the best.”
