Wedding Spawns A NEW BUSINESS
Two years ago Peter McCarthy and his bride-to-be Glenna Huff had settled on a small intimate backyard garden wedding. He surveyed his rabbit patch of a yard and saw there was a lot of work to be done to make their vision a reality. With 19 years experience as a salesman for Ross Heating and Air Conditioning and a successful entrepreneur for Service 1st Heating and Cooling, Peter had the means and motivation to get it done right. The gardens and landscaping came together very nicely with the help of we mow and more. com. But assembling his vision for an exceptional outdoor living space was a challenge. Superior and distinctive patio furniture was hard to find. Fabric colours and options were limited. It was difficult to visualize how his furniture purchases would look in his backyard space. Knowledgeable sales consultants seemed to be in short supply. In the end, he did purchase furniture and outdoor accessories. However he later found out there were options he was never told about. After leaving the store his creative brain got to thinking about a unique design concept for his own patio furniture store. He told Glenna about his plan and she laughed at him. But as the weeks past she soon realized he was serious and within one year Peter had established ‘The Patio Place’. This 7000 square foot inspirational filled showroom is located on Pinebush Road, just west of Franklin Boulevard, in Cambridge. The Patio Place passion and philosophy is all about creating indoor comfort for your outdoor living. The Patio Place carries the most stylish and durable patio furniture, manufactured by CabanaCoast, a Canadian company. Their products are built with marine grade stainless steel or durable aluminum frames, wicker, unique finishes, and Sunbrella fabrics that are designed to withstand the Canadian elements. Also on display are 175 different fabric choices to create custom cushions, walls full of Majestic and Dimplex electric and gas fireplaces, and a full line of Broil King barbeques and accessories. And this is the place for exclusive patio dinnerware and accessories that you will not see in any other retail location. There is even an art gallery featuring original and limited edition prints from world-renowned artist Steven D. McCarthy who happens to be Peter’s very talented brother. Borrowing from the Ikea concept, visitors to The Patio Place can actually see luxurious patio arrangements displayed in outdoor living rooms, on decks and patios, built right in the store courtesy of www.wemowandmore.com. This makes it much easier for the consumer to visualize the arrangement in their outdoor living space, balcony or sunroom. Another way The Patio Place supports their clients is with on site design consultants. The consultants are there to inspire ideas and suggest colours and designs that complement the family’s outdoor living space. They can also help you with furniture layout and space planning. The Patio Place designers are passionate about making the outside of your home, an extension of the inside of your home. Drop by the Patio Place at 193 Pinebush Drive and imagine the possibilities for your outdoor lifestyle. A Grand Opening celebration will be held on Saturday May 9th from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be a Broil King BBQ demonstration and you can enter into a draw for some fabulous door prizes. In October drop by their “forest” to see VERY unique Christmas trees and décor on display.
