What was your first alpine climb? The South Ridge of Gimli. I wore aggressive sport climbing shoes and left my approach shoes at the base of the route not realizing the descent was a walk off. 27

Any crazy stories about being benighted? No I’ve had a few big pushes up to hours but have not yet been benighted.

I’ve been working on diversifying my climbing and not just focusing on physically getting stronger. I’ve been developing the skills required to lead scary traditional mixed routes on granite faces, limestone choss and steep ice.
