Es­tab­lished in 1958 by the Cana­dian fed­eral gov­ern­ment and now man­aged by the Inuit Art Foun­da­tion, the Igloo Tag Trade­mark is ap­plied to sculp­tures, wall hang­ings, ceram­ics and other vis­ual art to sig­nify the works were made by Inuit artists. Once only avail­able to ma­jor whole­sale dis­trib­u­tors and ter­ri­to­rial govern­ments, the trade­mark is ex­pand­ing to be used by all Inuit artists.
