Darcie Bernhardt is a rising star in the Canadian art world. In 2019 alone she opened her first solo show, Ouiyaghasiak, was the IAF’s featured artist at Art Toronto 2019 and made her first institutional sales to the RBC Art Collection and the Indigenous Art Centre. Participating in Art Toronto was an incredible experience for me. Discussing my work with a broader audience and hearing that they appreciated it was really powerful. To have that spotlight on my work was amazing. I would love for other Indigenous artists to experience this.
