High school hockey championsh­ips set

Today (Saturday) at the Kensington rink, the girls’ championsh­ip game is at 1 p.m. The boys’ championsh­ip game starts at 2:45 p.m. Admission is $2 for students and $5 for the public. A 50/50 draw will be held during the boys’ game. At mid-week the pot was over $1,200. Grade 7 – Gwen Morrison, Kaylee LeClair Grade 8 – Joel Newrick, Paxton Cole Grade 9 – Abby Christophe­r, Lauren LaFrance Grade 10 – Skye MacAusland, Jillian Stewart Grade 11 – Gary Paynter, Tyler MacAusland Grade 12 – Dharma MacKay, Noah Gallant St. Dunstan’s University Board of Governors is offering a $1,000 scholarshi­p to a graduating KISH student. Donation box is in office on Monday and will be around the cafeteria Tuesday and Thursday. at the provincial science fair; you did us proud! Carter Champion and Lauren Ferguson both won honourable mention in the junior division and Carter won a specialty prize for math and statistics. Julia Weir won two specialty prizes for hearing. Senior high parent-teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, April 14, from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, April 15, from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

This year’s Green & White Revue show is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20. A matinee will be held in the morning for junior high students and in the afternoon for senior high students. The evening performanc­e starts at 7. Come out and see the varied talents of our students. The Canadian Mental Health Associatio­n will be presenting a youth suicide awareness and prevention program entitled “Signals of Suicide” (SOS) to Grade 9 students on April 27.

Prom tickets are on sale every Thursday. Cost is $20. Huey Lewis, CCR, The Eagles, Chicago and Brian Adams all have one thing in common – their songs (and those of a lot more artists) will be featured live on stage at Summerside Intermedia­te School on Wednesday, April 13, at 7 p.m.

Grad fees are $40 this year. On Thursday, April 28, the Grade 10-12 ADP Program will be participat­ing in a field study day with one of the highlights being touring the P.E.I. Soil & Feed, Water and Dairy Labs. During flex period on Tuesday, April 26, there will be an ADP meeting and Farmers Helping Farmers will be here to talk about our twinning project.

The Western P.E.I. Agricultur­e Tour will be taking place May 12 - 13 and will involve all Grade 11/12 ADP students. The Grade 10 Tractor Safety Day is tentativel­y booked for May 26. The Drama Club will be performing their production of “Spring Antic” on April 20 at the Florence Simmons Performanc­e Yearbooks will be on sale until April 22 for $30. Ensure you’ve ordered your yearbook at this time as no extra copies will be ordered. Rachel Green is one of the 14 protected players selected for the Canada Games Soccer in summer training team. Canada Games will be in Winnipeg, Man., July 2017. Congratula­tions Rachel! Bantam A Girls won their Provincial­s on March 22. Congratula­tions to Selina Lowther, Brooke McCardle and Katie Pearce.
