Storm ends losing slide

The Island Storm snapped a six-game losing streak Friday night with a 117-107 win over the Moncton Miracles. The National Baseball League of Canada game was played at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottet­own. The Storm improved to 11-21 and gained ground on the Miracles 13-19 in the Atlantic Division standings. The Storm held quarter leads of 30-20, 57-44 and 82-70. Rashad Whack led the Storm with 19 points and seven assists while Brent Jennings scored 18 points and Chad Posthumus added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Lewis scored 17, Terry Thomas 15 and w Baines 12 in the win. James Justice had 23 points and Dexter Strickland 20 to pace the Miracles.

The Storm hit 44 per cent (11for-25) from three-point territory and 72 per cent (26-for-36) from the free-throw line. The Storm hosts the London Lightning (21-10) tonight at 7 p.m.
