- JOURNAL PIONEER STAFF

The Agricultural Exhibition and Acadian Festival’s Festin acadien avec homard (Acadian Feast with Lobster) will welcome the Food Network personality, Chef Anna Olson at this year’s event.

It takes place on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Acadian Musical Village (Expo-Festival Centre) in Abram-Village at 5:30 p.m. Olson has become one of Canada’s most recognizable television chefs. Hosting Food Network’s “Bake with Anna Olson”, “Fresh with Anna Olson”, and “Sugar”, she has earned a loyal following in over 190 countries and can now be seen on the Oh Yum YouTube Channel. Her recipes appear in magazines and best-selling cookbooks, including translation into Spanish. The Festin acadien avec homard, a signature event of the Fall Flavours Festival, will offer a meal consisting of the traditional Acadian dishes: chicken fricot, rapure and meat pie as well as lobster, potato salad and a blueberry dessert.

Adding to the festive spirit, participants will be entertained by music, songs and step-dancing featuring Caroline Bernard, Louise Arsenault, Helene Bergeron, Rémi Arsenault, Nick Arsenault and step-dancers Lydia Arsenault and Alexandra Mitchell.

This feast will be offered in a relaxed atmosphere, the meal being served family-style, where the food will be brought to the tables on trays to be passed around the table. The waiters and waitresses will be dressed in traditional Acadian costumes and the room decorated in Acadian colours.

Tickets for the Festin acadien avec homard must be purchased in advance at the Acadian Festival office, by calling 902-854-3517 or online at www.fallflavours.ca.
