CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Grade 12 KRHS student Olivia Mullins who won the #oneidea essay contest through MP Wayne Easter’s office. She was one of 30 students selected from 1,300 entries across Canada. She is now part of the EF Canadian Youth Ambassador Program. She will be travelling to France from April 6-12 to participat­e in the commemorat­ion ceremony of the 100th anniversar­y of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Then in May, Olivia will join peers from across Canada for an EF Educationa­l Tour to Ottawa for three days.

RWP (Red, White, and

Pink Day)

Tuesday, Feb. 14, we are asking students to show some spirit and celebrate Valentine’s Day by wearing red, white or pink.

Rubber Boot Day

Thursday, Feb. 16, is rubber boot day on. Give a hoot and wear your boots.

Pajama Day and Pancake Day

Wednesday, Feb. 22, students can be comfy and wear their pajamas. Student Council will prepare a pancake breakfast from 8-9 a.m. for students and staff (no cost). Regular morning classes will follow after the breakfast.

COURSE REGISTRATI­ON

Parent and students are invited to register for next year’s courses on Feb. 28. We will be using the online program called myBlueprin­t (www.myblueprin­t.ca/pei), which has many features such as up-to-date informatio­n on credits the students have already completed. This program assists students in planning for their remaining years in high school. It will also allow them to explore possible post-secondary options. Grade 9 students and their parents are invited to the come to the Computer Lab at 6 p.m. while parents and students in Grade 10 will meet in the Computer Lab at 7 p.m., and Grade 11 students and their parents in will meet at 7 p.m. in the KRHS library.

ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA

Grade 12 student Olivia Mullins will be representi­ng KRHS at Encounters with Canada at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre in Ottawa from Feb. 1218. The theme of her week is Internatio­nal Relations.
