The largely attended funeral for the late Douglas Basil Gallant beloved husband to Gail nee Fraser Gallant of Alberton, was held on Sunday afternoon February 5, 2017 from the E. Gerald Rooney memorial Chapel where funeral service was conducted at 2:30 pm by the Rev. Sheila McCrea-MacCallum who brought words of comfort to the family.The Eulogy was delivered by brother in Law, Kenny Ashley. Scripture readings from Revelation­s 21:1-7 were addressed by son in Law Clint Perry. Psalm 23 was addressed by daughter in law Amanda Gallant. 1 Corinthian­s 13-8-13 and Romans 8:35-39 were addressed by Rev. Andrew MacDonald who also had the prayers of commendati­on and fairwell. The message, “Faith, Hope and Love was delivered by Rev. Sheila McCrea MacCallum. The procession­al, Precious Memories aC D by Alan Jackson, and another, How Beautiful Heaven must be aC D by George Jones were played through the funeral homes musical presence system. Another C D consisting of Nicole Corcoran, Taylor Donald, Krista Lee Oliver, and Kattie Oliver accompanie­d by Kelly Dawn Oliver sang “Hallelujah”. During the service Bruce Jones (Guitar) sang I Want to stroll Over Heaven with You. The recessiona­l Go Rest High on that Mountain, was sung by Alphie Perry (Guitar) Everyone present for the funeral were considered to be Honorary Pallbearer­s. The active pallbearer­s were, Tyler Hardy, Mitch Hardy, Kerry Fraser, Dale Peters, Kenny Ashley, Alan Hardy. The flower bearers were Kendra O’Brien, Korbin Fraser, Devon O’Brien, Karissa Ashley, Darcy Peters. Interment took place in the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene Cemetery with pastor Sheila McCrea-MacCallum Officiatin­g.
