Collision near Wellington
Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle accident on Route 2 in Wellington Centre, near the Egmont Bay Road intersection, around 3:40 p.m. Friday. An East-bound Ford passenger car struck the rearend of a left-turning Kia SUV. The driver of the Kia was transported to Prince County Hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the Ford were not injured. East Prince RCMP were dispatched to the 911 call, as well as the Wellington Fire Department and Island EMS. A section of the highway was closed and reopened around 5:20 p.m.
