Drugs seized at traffic stop in Borden-Carleton

Some weed was seized and a driver charged during a traffic stop in Borden-Carleton Tuesday morning.

Around 8 a.m. on Feb. 21, an RCMP officer spotted marijuana in the vehicle during the traffic stop and arrested the male driver for possession of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle resulted in a quantity of marijuana being seized, but the police did not specify how much.

The driver is scheduled to appear in court in May.

Police are reminding the public that marijuana is still illegal and driving while under the influence of marijuana or any other substance is considered impaired driving.
